On May 20, 2025, stakeholders from across Ekiti will be gathered for the inaugural Public–Private Dialogue (PPD) to launch and co-create the Ekiti State Labour Market Information System (LMIS) — a milestone moment for inclusive development and evidence-based employment planning.
This isn’t just a ceremonial event — it is a strategic convergence of public officials, business leaders, educators, development partners, and civil society. The aim? To confront one of Ekiti’s most pressing challenges: the growing disconnect between skills and opportunity.
🔍 The Problem
- Young people are struggling to find meaningful work.
- Businesses can’t find the talent they need.
- The education system isn’t aligned with labour market realities.
- Policymakers lack the data to make smart, targeted interventions.
💡 The LMIS Response
The Ekiti LMIS platform offers dashboards, labour insights, job postings, and real-time data for four key audiences:
- Employers — to share vacancies and understand workforce trends
- Educators — to align training with real demand
- Job seekers — to get guidance and find in-demand opportunities
- Government — to design data-backed policies
🤝 Why This Dialogue Matters
The event signals the beginning of co-creation, not just implementation. Stakeholders will be invited to shape how the system grows — from how data is gathered, to how it’s used.
The Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Kayode Fasae, calls on all parties to take ownership:
“No job seeker should be left behind. The Ekiti LMIS is not a dashboard—it’s a commitment to smart, inclusive, responsive governance.”
